How to 'whitelist' NRMjobs (so your spam filter doesn't block it)

This page explains how to 'whitelist' the NRMjobs email address so that our weekly newlsetter won't be blocked by your spam filter. How you do this depends on what email and/or anti-spam system you are using.

Find the system you are using in the list below, and click on it for detailed instructions (listed in alphabetical order - more common systems in bold).

AOL
AOL version 9.0
To ensure that 'NRMjobs' is delivered to your Inbox, add newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your "People I Know" list. To do this:

- Open your latest 'NRMjobs' newsletter email.
- Click the 'Add Address' button on the right-hand side to add 'NRMjobs' to your "People I know" list.

If you're using an earlier version of AOL, you'll need to set your Mail Controls instead:

- Go to Keyword Mail Controls.
- Select the screen name we're sending your mail to.
- Click Customize Mail Controls For This Screen Name.

AOL version 8.0
Select Allow email from all AOL members, email addresses and domains.

- Click Next until the Save button shows up at the bottom.
- Click Save.

AOL version 7.0
In the section for "exclusion and inclusion parameters", include this domain: @emailmedia.com.au

CleanMyMailbox

If you're using CleanMyMailbox to filter your incoming email, you can exempt 'NRMjobs' email bulletins from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your Whitelist. To do this:

- Click the 'Whitelist' button.
- Add newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- Click the 'Submit List' button.

Earthlink
If you're using Earthlink, you can make sure NRMjobs is delivered to your Inbox by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your Address Book. To do this:

- Open your latest NRMjobs email
- Click on Address Book - located on the left, below your Folders.
- Once the Address Book opens, click the Add button.
- On the Add Contact screen, find the Internet Information box.
- Enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- Click Save.

Hotmail

(1) If you are using a Hotmail address, NRMjobs bulletins may be blocked because they are addressed to a mailing list, not to you individually. To fix this:

- Log on and click the 'Mail' tab to get into your mailbox.
- Click 'Options' (located at the top right, next to 'Help').
- On the left side of the page, click 'Mail', and then click 'Junk Email Protection'.
- Click 'Mailing Lists'.
- In the text box, type 'nrmjobs_linked@emailmedia.com.au', and then click 'Add'.
- Click 'OK'

(2) You may also need to add 'NRMjobs' to your Hotmail 'Safe List'. To do this:

- Log on and click the 'Mail' tab to get into your mailbox.
- Click 'Options' (located at the top right, next to 'Help').
- Click Junk Email Protection.
- Select Safe List.
- In the space provided, enter the address newsletter@emailmedia.com.au (or the domain @emailmedia.com.au)
- Click Add.

Mailblocks

If you're using Mailblocks to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your 'Accept Mail From' list of addresses. To do this:

- In Mailblocks, click the Addresses tab.
- Select New.
- Enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- In the Receiving Options, select Accept Mail From This Address.
- In the Other Options, make sure Display in People Picker is not selected.
- Click Submit.
- Click OK.

MailShield

If you're using MailShield to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your list of Friends. To do this:

- On the MailShield toolbar, click Friends.
- Click Add.
- Enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au

Mail Washer

If you're using MailWasher to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your list of Friends. To do this:

- In MailWasher, select Tools.
- Select Blacklist & Friends.
- On the right-hand side is the "Friends" list. Click the Friends Add button.
- Select Plain email address.
- Enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- Click OK again.

MSN

If you're using MSN version 9 for your email, you can make sure the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin is delivered to your Inbox by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your Safe List. To do this.

- Open your latest 'NRMjobs' email bulletin.
- Click on Settings: email | Junk email - located at the bottom left of the screen, just above Calendar.
- On the email settings screen, click Junk email Guard.
- Select Safe List.
- In the space provided under "Add people to the safe list", enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- Click Add.

For older versions of MSN:

- Open your latest 'NRMjobs' email bulletin.
- Copy the address in the "From" line.
- Click on email settings - located at the bottom left of the screen, just above Calendar.
- On the email settings screen, click Junk Mail.
- Select Safe List.
- Click Add an item to this list.
- When the Add To Safe List box appears, enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- Click Add.

Netscape

If you're using Netscape to handle your email, you can make sure 'NRMjobs' email bulletins are delivered to your Inbox by creating a Whitelist. To do this, follow the instructions at this link (click the link, then scroll down the page).

Oddpost

If you're using Oddpost to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from the filtering process by marking it as "Not Spam" - but only if it has been incorrectly identified as spam in the first place. Here's what to do:

- Find any 'NRMjobs' email bulletin that's in your Probably Spam folder.
- Click on that email to select it.
- Click the Move to Inbox and Mark as Not Spam button.

Outlook

If you're using Outlook 2003 for your email, you can make sure 'NRMjobs' email bulletins are delivered to your Inbox by letting Outlook know you consider them 'safe'. There are a few ways you can do this:

- Open any 'NRMjobs' email bulletin, then add the sender or the sender's domain to your Safe List.
- Add newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to the Personal Contacts in your Outlook Address Book.
- Open any 'NRMjobs' email bulletin, then select Mark as Not Junk.

If you're using Outlook Express for your email, you can make sure 'NRMjobs' email bulletins are delivered to your Inbox by creating a whitelist. To do this:

Spam Assassin

If you're using Spam Assassin to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to the Whitelist in your User Preferences. To do this:

- Search your hard drive for the spam assassin folder, then open it.
- In that folder should be a file named user_prefs. Open it with a text editor (Notepad, for example). If there is no such file, you can create it. The detailed instructions are at http://spamassassin.taint.org/doc/Mail_SpamAssassin_Conf.html
- Make a new (blank) line in the file. On that line, enter whitelist_from, followed by newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- Save the file and close it.

Spam Butcher

If you're using Spam Butcher to filter your incoming email, you can exempt your 'NRMjobs' newsletter mail from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your Know Senders list. To do this:

- Open Spam Butcher and click the 'Configure' button.
- Select the 'Known Senders' tab.
- Under 'Known Good Senders and Recipients', click Add.
- Enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au and click OK.

Spameater

If you're using Spameater to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.auto your list of Approved Senders. To do this:

- On the Spameater sidebar, click 'Filters'.
- Select the 'Approved Senders' tab.
- Click 'Add Filter'
- In the Address space, enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- For Address Type, select Full Email Address.
- Click OK.

Spam Inspector

If you're using Spam Inspector to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from thefiltering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your list of Friends. To do this:

- Open Outlook.
- On the Spam Inspector menu or toolbar, find and select Manage Friends List.
- In the Add a New Friend area, select email.
- Enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au

If you're using Spam Interceptor to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your list of Trusted senders. To do this:

- Open Spam Interceptor and select 'Authentication Lists'.
- Click 'Trusted' - Enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- Click Add.

If you're using Cloudmark's SpamNet to filter your incoming email, you can exempt your 'NRMjobs' newsletter mailfrom the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your Whitelist. To do this:

- Open your Outlook Inbox.
- On the Cloudmark SpamNet toolbar, click Options.
- Click Advanced.
- Select the Whitelist tab.
- Click the Add button.
- Enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au and click the OK button.
- Click OK again, then Yes, then OK one last time

SpamPal

If you're using SpamPal to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your Whitelist. To do this:

- When SpamPal is running, find the SpamPal icon in your Windows system tray and right-click on it.
- Select 'Add to Whitelist'.
- Enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- Click Add

SpamSleuth

If you're using Spam Sleuth to filter your incoming email, you can exempt the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin from the filtering process by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your list of Friends. Here's how:

- Open Spam Sleuth.
- From the File menu, select 'Configure'.
- In the 'Friends' category, make sure 'Active' is selected.
- In the space provided for the list, make a new (blank) line and on it enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- Click OK.

Verizon

If you're using Verizon for email, you can ensure that the 'NRMjobs' email bulletin is delivered to your Inbox by adding newsletter@emailmedia.com.au to your Safe List. To do this:

- Go to your Verizon Inbox.
- Click 'Options'.
- Select the 'Block Senders' tab - located near the top of the screen. On the Block Senders screen, you'll see both a Block Sender List and a 'Safe List'
- In the space where it says, "Enter email address or sub domain to always accept even if the domain is blocked", enter "newsletter@emailmedia.com.au

Yahoo!

To ensure that your 'NRMjobs' email bulletin alerts are delivered to your Yahoo Inbox (not the Bulk Mail folder), you can instruct Yahoo to filter it to your Inbox. To do this:

- Open your Yahoo mailbox.
- Click 'Mail Options'.
- Click 'Filters'.
- Next, click 'Add Filter'.
- In the top row, labeled 'From header', make sure contains is selected in the pull down menu.
- Click in the text box next to the pull-down menu, then enter newsletter@emailmedia.com.au
- At the bottom, where it says 'Move the message to':, select 'Inbox' from the pull down menu.
- Click the 'Add Filter' button again.
