NRM Science Conference 2018

Adelaide, 10-11 April

You’re invited to the NRM Science Conference 2018, to be held 10-11 April 2018 at the University of Adelaide (#SANRM18)

Building on the success of the first two conferences, this year’s theme is Science for Policy in a Changing World. The conference will be a space for NRM researchers and practitioners to come together to consider the new challenges science faces in a post-truth world.

Big data, social media, and ‘alternative’ news sources are eroding traditional routes that turn science into policy action. How can our scientists and policy makers respond to these challenges to ensure better outcomes for South Australia?

The conference welcomes internationally-renowned plenary speakers including:

  • Professor Sarah Bekessy - Professor of Sustainability and Urban Planning, RMIT University
  • Dr Katherine Tuft - General Manager, Arid Recovery Reserve
  • Professor Kristofer Helgen - Professor of Biological Sciences and Deputy Director of the Centre for Applied Conservation Science at the University of Adelaide
  • Dr Karl Braganza - Head of Climate Monitoring, Bureau of Meteorology
  • Rosemary Bissett - Head of Sustainability Governance and Risk at the National Australia Bank
  • Dr Manu Saunders - Ecologist, Ecosystem Services, University of New England
  • Professor Lesley Hughes - Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Integrity and Development), Distinguished Professor of Biology, Macquarie University
  • Richard McLellan - CEO of Northern Agricultural Catchments Council NRM, Western Australia.

Abstracts are now being accepted and close on 2 March.

We look forward to seeing you at the NRM Science Conference 2018!
