Our amazing daughter Alice

Our 16-year-old daughter Alice is an inspiration to us.

  • Alice spent most of her spare time in 2007 working with her friends on a project called Rock Against Warming (a compilation CD of 15 Adelaide youth bands singing original songs about global warming).

  • In September 2007 Alice (then 15) was the youngest person in Australia to complete Al Gore's Climate Project presenter's course in Melbourne (see below).

  • In October 2007 Alice won the 'Rising Star' award in South Australia's inaugural Premier's NRM Awards (presented by SA Premier Mike Rann, see below).

  • In October 2008 Alice was the youngest person ever to win the annual 'Jill Hudson Award for Environmental Protection', awarded by the Conservation Council of SA (presented by SA Greens MLC Mark Parnell, see below).

& our three sons, Joe, Max & Will

Our three sons, Joe (13) , Max (11) & William (7) have been coming to Aldgate Valley Landcare Group working bees for most of their lives.

Below is a local newspaper advert (from Hills & Valley Messenger, 27/2/08) published by the Adelaide & Mount Lofty Ranges NRM Board, which features Max (not Mark) & Will at work at the Stirling Cemetery Bush, which is part of the Aldgate Valley Landcare Group's Valley of the Bandicoots project (click on the advert to see the original colour photo).

You can also click here to see a Channel 10 video clip showing our whole family accepting an environment award.
